I first “met” Elise and Carl via Skype. Meeting in person would have been hard considering they live in Stuttgart, Germany! Elise grew up in a military family and spent several years living and working in Germany where she met Carl. Carl is from Colorado, but is currently a member of the US Army Special Forces, stationed in Germany. Elise’s parents are now retired and they moved back to her mom’s hometown of Kent, CT where the wedding was held.
Kent is the town you imagine when you think of autumn in New England. It’s an impossibly cute small town, tucked within the folds of the Litchfield Hills of northwest Connecticut. Driving into town on a windy country road, you pass horse farms and a red covered bridge before you reach the tiny downtown area with it’s world class art galleries. On your way out of town, you pass the 19th century train depot before reaching Kent Falls, the tallest waterfall in Connecticut. This was the setting for Elise & Carl’s wedding in late September.
Then we headed over to the Morrison Gallery for a sophisticated reception.
